The general objective of this research was to identify the social representations associated with the consumption of recreational services in the city of Bogotá and nearby municipalities. A mixed-cut methodology combining the qualitative and quantitative perspectives was carried out, which allowed a depth in the analysis of the results and a greater approach to the reality of the affiliates to these entities. In the qualitative phase through in-depth interviews it was possible to obtain some meanings and associations related to the consumption of recreational services, results that were input for the elaboration of a questionnaire for the quantitative phase where the structure of the social representation was identified and other elements related to family compensation funds. With these findings, it was possible to explain the socio-cognitive system of the affiliates to the compensation funds, as well as the consumption of recreational services in the contexts of the capital and surrounding municipalities, with sport as the main association for recreation and recreation. welfare understood as tranquility in the context of capital while in municipalities it is associated with health. It is expected that the results can be used for the academic consultation as well as for the entities interested in promoting improvements in the quality of life of the people affiliated with these services, Being a tool that provides the creation of services tailored to the needs of their users.
