Neurodevelopment is a complex process that involves the maturation of structures that support the acquisition of skills for the adaptation of individuals, such is the case of executive functions (FE). These play a very important role in the development of the human being. It has been found that a low performance in FE tests is associated with a low academic performance and the inappropriate development of these functions is a factor associated with behavioral problems and psychopathological disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and bipolar disorder (TB). Therefore, it is important to identify the role of different variables, both biological and environmental, in their development. Thus, the objective of this research is to describe the relationship between temperament and parenting practices in the formation of executive functions of pre-school children between 3 and 5 years of age in Bogotá with different socioeconomic status. As for the instruments, the neuropsychological battery for preschoolers (BANPE) will be used to measure FE, the inventory of parenting practices (IPC-1 parent version) for parenting practices and the questionnaire on child behavior (CBQ-SF) for the temperament. From the results found, there is no difference between the temperament groups when performing the tasks that measure FE. As for the relationship of parenting practices and executive functions that is the general objective of this investigation, a significant correlation was not found, this may be due to foreign external variables related to the subject such as the willingness to perform the test, the level of fatigue or poor familiarity with the test environment by preschoolers.
