Bianchi Salguero, Javier Mauricio | 2020-
The objective of this research was to estimate into a Colombian sample the psychometric properties of Brief Sensation Seeking Scale (BSSS). The results reveal, firstly, an adequate linguistic adaptation through the items clarity evaluation, acceptable internal consistency indices which were estimated from the Cronbach’s Alpha and the McDonald’s Omega (α=.80, ω=.81) y (α=.78, ω=.78) for the 8 and 4 items versions respectively, a convergent validity which was evaluated through the correlations with the Barrat Impulsivity Scale (BIS) (𝑟𝑆=.401, p=.000).
Finally, by the front of the internal structure, the model that best fit is the one with 2 factors for the 8 items version and 1 factor for the 4 items version. This scale represents adequate psychometrics properties of reliability and validity, as a result, that means that its allow to use the scale into a Colombian population. However, it is not advisable to make a diagnosis.
