The study applied a brief group intervention, based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to establish its effect on the rates of Burnout Syndrome and psychological flexibility in personal assistance in the emergency area of a clinic. A group, experimental and control waiting list design was implemented, with 30 participants each. The instruments were: MBI-HSS, WAAQ, GHQ-12, CFQ, DASS-21 and VQ. The measurements were taken in three moments; pretest phase, in order to obtain information individually from the participants; contingency pre-test phase, application of tests after the start of quarantine - COVID-19; post-test phase, data collection after application of the intervention. Student's t test was performed for independent samples, Anova for repeated measures and Conover's Post Hoc Test. Significant differences were found in the results, which allow us to conclude that ACT reduces the rates of Burnout Syndrome.
