The purpose of this research was to identify the psychometric properties of the Acceptance and Commitment Questionnaire in university students (AAQ-US) in a Colombian context. This instrument originally created by Levin, Kraff, Pistorello and Seeley (2018) measures psychological flexibility in university students. The study had an instrumental design (Montero and León, 2002) in which the idiomatic adaptation of the instrument was performed, with a type of sampling for convenience. It was applied to a group of 352 students, of legal age, with a representation of 61% in women and 39% in men, volunteer participants from 25 universities in Bogotá, seeking a relationship of more than 25 participants per item.
Reliability analysis was performed with the calculation of Cronbach's alpha coefficient, finding a reliability index α = .90 showing a high internal consistency. Additionally, the exploratory factor analysis was developed with the main component technique in which the existence of a single factor was identified, finally the sources of external evidence of the test were evaluated by analyzing the correlations with the DASS-21 test and the AAQ-II, finding positive correlations between the scales.
