The aim of this research was to analyze the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in the processes of psychological flexibility and the characteristics of the filial parent-child bond in parents with children with diverse sexual orientation, through the use of a three-session protocol based on ACT online, making use a type AB single case design with follow-up. A visual analysis of the results and the Tau-U test, showed the statistically significant effect (p <0.05) of the ACT in the decrease of the scores of psychological inflexibility and increase of satisfaction indexes in the family interaction of all the participants (n=5) across the intervention. Finally, the importance of having the support of the family in the process of recognition of sexual identity as a protective factor to reduce risk behaviors in adolescents and young people is discussed.
