The objective of the present study was to determine the relationship between the dimensions of jealousy and the emotional dependence in a sample of 102 members of the National Police that included, patrolmen, members of executive rank and officers from the department of Cundinamarca and the city of Bogotá. This was a quantitative study, which corresponds to a non-experimental correlational cross-sectional design. Variables were measured using the CDE Emotional Dependency Questionnaire and the CECLA. Within the results, a positive and significant correlation was found between the dimensions of the applied instruments. In the analysis, a higher score of jealousy and emotional dependence is observed in relationships of less than one year, passionate jealousy has a greater presence in married couples, obsessive and delusional jealousy in couples under one year, the greater the presence of jealousy the higher separation anxiety, fear of loneliness and need for constant expressions of affection. The clinical implications are discussed.
