The present study aims to describe the symbolic consumption from the congruence with the identity and perceived value of national women and men who visit the Cerro de Monserrate, in order to know the context and activities that motivate tourism, thus understanding the symbolic value that visitors give to the tourism experience.
The research had a quantitative approach in which a descriptive-correlational study was conducted, for which a scale covering the study variables was used. For the analysis of results, descriptive analyzes, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equations were performed. Some of the findings of the results allow us to analyze the dimensions that made up the instrument, congruence with the identity, social value, perceived value, perception of the image of the destination, intention to buy souvenirs, intention to recommend and revisit.
