Informal caregivers have a high prevalence of emotional problems, and they often do not receive short and effective psychological treatments. This study aims to evaluate whether the adaptation to Spanish of a single session Behavioral Activation treatment, designed by Read et al. (2016), can reduce depression and stress, and increase general well-being in a Colombian sample of caregivers. A quasi-experimental design of repeated measures with a non-equivalent control group was used. Significant differences were found between the groups in posttest measurements in Depression-DASS-21, BADS-SF, SWLS and EROS; the repeated measures analysis of the experimental group showed significant differences in Depression-DASS-21, Avoidance-BADS-SF, Stress-DASS-21, SWLS and EROS. The findings show that this treatment can be effective in the short term, but its effects are reduced in two months. The reasons for this phenomenon are analyzed and new lines of research and treatment strengthening are suggested.

Depression is a disorder that has been occurring with high frequency in the adolescent population, putting at risk the quality of life of those who suffer and their life. Behavioral Activation (AC) therapy has proven to be an effective treatment to combat it. It was proposed to implement The Brief Behavioral Activation Protocol for Depression (BATD-R) given its characteristics, which allow easy adherence to treatment. The objective was to estimate the effect of treatment on depressive symptomatology in six adolescents between 12 and 18 years of age diagnosed with this disorder that meet the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Brief Behavioral Activation Protocol for Depression (BATD-R) with a duration of one hour per week for ten weeks was applied to the participants. The main hypothesis was that the depressive behaviors of the consultants would decrease, and increase the healthy behaviors. The results showed that the application of the BATD-R in adolescents has a significant effect on the decrease of symptoms presented by an episode of depression or Major Depression Disorder, and also has an impact on healthy, depressive behaviors and reports of mood with statistically significant effect sizes for the three variables analyzed.

We used the Environmental Reward Observation Scale, the Behavioral Activation for Depression Scale, the Zung Scale for Depression, the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales and the Daily Monitoring formats to evaluate this. The effectiveness of the protocol was evident in the two intervention formats, in the comparisons between the baseline and follow-up, and stability of change in follow-up; a large effect size relative to the non-overlap of all pairs in healthy behaviors. The effectiveness of the intervention in group and individual format, without presenting variations when changing format and modality, related to the theoretical references of behavioral activation, was concluded

The instruments were the Environmental Reward Observation Scale, the Behavioral Activation for Depression Scale, the Zung Scale for depression and the Daily Monitoring Formats. It was found that BATD-G was effective according to statistically significant differences between baseline and treatment, as well as the stability of the change in follow-up. The effect sizes were large according to the non-overlapping of all pairs in depressive, healthy and mood behaviors. It was concluded that the intervention was effective in group format for this population, and were consistent with the theories of behavioral activation.

Behavioral activation treatments prove to be effective in depressive disorders given their low economic cost and short execution time, observing changes from the beginning, using principles of positive reinforcement and the equalization law (Barraca., 2010). This case study sought to determine the effect of the BATD-r protocol by Lejuez et al. (2011in five adolescents diagnosed with depression, under an A-B research design, applied in telepsychology modality. The research participants belong to a school of education by cycles, where various problems can be observed such as: substance use, family abuse, gangs, sexual abuse, emotional disorders such as depression on which this research focuses. The application of this treatment makes it possible to show that there is an effect on depression, observed from the decrease in depressive behaviors, the increase in healthy behaviors and the subjective change in mood observed through the TAU-u index (Parker et al., 2016) that allowed defining a positive trend of the treatment and determined that the level of change is significant.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is an orphan neurodegenerative disease that has no cure and symptoms of depression have been described within its clinical manifestations. The Brief Behavioral Activation Treatment for Depression (BATD-R) has empirical support as an effective non-pharmacological treatment. The main objective was to estimate the effect of BATD-R on depressive symptoms in a non-probability sample of four participants diagnosed with ALS, attending a reference hospital in Bogotá. A single-case A-B design with follow-up was used. The main instruments implemented were the Daily Monitoring Formats, the Zung Scale for depression (EZ-D), the Behavioral Activation Scale for depression (BADS) and the Observation Scale of Reward from the Environment (EROS). A visual and statistical analysis showed an increase in healthy behaviors (Tau-U = [.4; 1]; NAP = [.78; 1]) and a decrease in depressive behaviors (Tau-U = [-.4; 1]; NAP = [.01; .15]). There were no significant changes in the report on mood. The results were maintained in the follow-up after the treatment had been withdrawn. It was concluded that the intervention was effective in a sample with neurodegenerative disease. Its idiographic and flexible character stands out, according to the functional possibilities of the consultants, as well as its impact on the absence of depressive symptoms after the intervention. It is suggested to broaden the approach to subjective measures of mood as opposed to the verbalizations of the participants and their clinical implications.

The objective of this research was to estimate the psychometric properties of the Behavioral Activation for Depression Scale Short Form (BADS-SF) in a Colombian sample of 388 participants divided randomly into two groups (n = 194). The results show that it has adequate levels of reliability estimated based on Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's Omega, as well as evidence of content validity, significant correlations of high magnitude with other measures such as EROS (r = .693), the scale of depression of ZUNG (r = -. 620) and the full version of BADS (r = .774). In the AFE, the BADS-SF showed a factorial structure with two dimensions that explain 54.2% of the variance in agreement with that reported in the literature, as well as adequate goodness-of-fit indexes in the CFA for a two-factor model with elimination of item 8. This scale presents adequate psychometric properties of reliability and validity that allow its use in the Colombian population in the Clinical context, although susceptible to improvement.

The results show that (RPI) has adequated levels of reliability based on Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's Omega results, as well as evidence of content validity, significant correlations of high magnitude with other measures such as the Zung depression scale (r = -. 74), EROS (r = .79) and the full version of the BADS (r = .70). In the EFA, the RPI showed a two-dimensional factorial structures that explains 43.54% of the variance, reported in the literature, as well as adequate goodness-of-fit indexes in the CFA for a two-factor model. This scale presents the psychometric properties of adequate reliability and validity, which allows its use as a reliable measure of the RCPR in the Colombian population at the research level and in the Clinical context.
