Given two or more functions we can combine their assignment rules to get a new function. The most common combinations are sum, difference, product and quotient. In the operation quotient there is the condition that g(x) must be different from zero. Examples of each operation are given also the domain is found and how to evaluate the resulting function in a point. You also define the operation composition. The composition of functions f of A in B and g of C in A is the function denoted by f°g (f composite g) of C in B under the condition that the images of x under g are elements of the domain of f. Finally it is spoken of the decomposition of functions, i.e. given a function h to find two functions f and g such that its composition produces the function h.
