Most of the studies on burnout have been from the perspective of organizational psychology, which has not allowed to carry out interventions that point to mechanisms that influence its development and maintenance. This research examines the relationships of burnout and its 3 dimensions, cynicism, efficacy and emotional exhaustion, with psychological flexibility, satisfaction with life, psychological well-being and repetitive negative thinking to identify protective or vulnerability factors that intervene in the development of the syndrome. A non-experimental correlational cross-sectional study was conducted with 264 workers. The instruments used were the AAQ-II and WAAQ to measure psychological flexibility, the SWLS scale for satisfaction with life, the Ryff EBP for psychological well-being and the PTQ for repetitive negative thinking. The results suggest that these variables are viable in the prediction of protective and risk factors in the development of burnout in percentages higher than 30%, hence the importance of evaluating them in depth in workers.
